Badgers travel to Indiana to compete in second outdoor meet of the season

MADISON, Wis. - A small Badger pack will travel to Bloomington, Indiana, to compete in the Big Ten Invite #2. The meet has been moved to Friday only, instead of both Friday and Saturday, due to possible inclement weather conditions.Â

1. SPRINTS: Diamond Black and Kaylah McCall will compete in their respective events for the first time this season, on Friday. Black, a junior from Chandler, Arizona, will compete in the women's 100-meter dash. McCall will make her debut as a Badger on Friday as she competes in the 100-meter hurdles.
2. LONE BADGER:Â Davis Wenthe will be the lone male traveling this weekend. Wenthe, a freshman from Galesville, Wisconsin, will compete in the 400-meter hurdles to represent the men's side.Â
3. 1500-METER RUN: Seven Badgers are scheduled to compete in the 1500-meter run on Friday. This includes Victoria Heiligenthal, Kate Jortberg, Shea Ruhly, Kate Ricks, Lucinda Crouch, Ellen Van Doorn and Madison Mooney. Mooney is the sole Badger that has competed in the 1500-meter run before, since the 2020 season was canceled. The Broomfield, Colorado, native has a personal record of 4 minutes,19.98 seconds, which she ran last weekend in Florida The rest of the Badgers will compete in the 1500-meter run for the first time.
4. 10,000-METER RUN: Five Badgers will compete in the 10,000-meter run. This includes Emma Helstrom, Alexa Westley, Samantha Stieve, Scarlet Dale and Heidi Heuerman. This will be the first time all of these athletes will compete in the 10,000-meter run for the Badgers.Â
5. 800-METER RUN: Four Badgers will compete in the 800-meter run on Friday. This will be the first time all of the athletes competing will run this race for the Badgers. This includes Anna Schoesser, Ellen Van Doorn, Cailyn Biegalski and Kate Ricks.Â
