Wisconsin set to face Penn State and Ohio State
MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's tennis team returns to the road this weekend to compete in a pair of matches against Penn State and No. 8 Ohio State.
The Badgers (8-6; 7-6 Big Ten) will face off against the Nittany Lions on Friday at 2 p.m. CT before traveling to play the Buckeyes on Sunday at noon.
1.Badger Review: The Badgers currently hold a 7-6 record in Big Ten play, splitting their most recent matches against Illinois and Northwestern two weekends ago. Xinyu Cai leads the team in singles play, already claiming four wins over ranked opponents this season at No. 1 singles. Ava Markham also went unbeaten last weekend at No. 2 singles.
2. Scouting Penn State: The Nittany Lions hold the exact same conference record (7-6) as the Badgers after splitting their matches against Michigan and Michigan State last weekend. The last time these two teams faced off, Wisconsin came out on top with a 4-2 win at University Park.
3. Scouting Ohio State: The No. 8 Buckeyes are currently 12-1 in the Big Ten after claiming dual match victories over both Michigan and Michigan State last weekend. The last time Wisconsin and Ohio State faced off, the Buckeyes earned a 6-1 win. The Badgers hold a 31-18 advantage in the all-time series, however.
