BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - A select group of Badgers traveled to Bloomington, Indiana, on Friday evening to compete in the Big Ten Invite #2. Several athletes made their outdoor debut for the Badgers and multiple landed podium finishes in their respective events.
Freshman
Davis Wenthe made his outdoor debut for the Badgers, running his first 400-meter hurdle race. The Galesville, Wisconsin, native showed he could hang with the front of the crowd as he secured silver, crossing the line in 51.59 seconds.
Madison Mooney proved she is a force to be reckon with in the 800-meter run during the indoor season, as she ran a PR and finished runner-up at the Big Ten Championship. Mooney continues to prove her speed in this race, as she secured silver on Friday, speeding past the line in 2:07.13. She also finished eighth in the 1500 meters in 4:22.38.
Freshman Kaylah McCall made her debut for the Badgers on Friday in the 100-meter hurdles. McCall snagged a fifth-place finish, crossing the line in 14.59.
In the long distance events,
Sarah Shulze took eighth in the 5000 meters in 17:04.76.
Vivian Hacker and
Erinn Hill took sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 3000 meters in 10:09.43 and 10:20.86. In the 10,000 meters,
Alexa Westley finished fifth in 34:59.29 while
Samantha Stieve took 10th in 35:54.47.
