MADISON, Wis. –
Mick Byrne, Director of Track and Field and Cross Country, has
announced that
Kareem Jackson has been promoted to the position of associate head coach for men's and women's track and field at the University of Wisconsin.
"I'm pleased to announce the elevation of Coach
Kareem Jackson to the position of associate head coach for our track and field programs," said Byrne. "On and off the track, Coach Jackson has worked tirelessly to elevate the lives of our student-athletes."
Entering his ninth season at Wisconsin, Jackson has coach two U.S. Olympic Trial qualifiers and three Big Ten Conference champions, including 2021 outdoor 100-meter hurdle champion
Destiny Huven. A native of Harvey, Illinois, Jackson has coached 12 Badger All-Americans and 18 All-Big Ten honorees. His athletes have recorded 24 top-10 all-time marks at Wisconsin while 31 athletes have qualified for the NCAA Preliminary Rounds.

Jackson came to Wisconsin after spending four years as the head coach of men's and women's track and field at the SIU-Edwardsville. He served as an assistant coach with the Cougars for two seasons as well as two years an assistant at Lafayette College and at the University of Chicago.
