MADISON, Wis. – Tim Bielic's first goal as a Badger led UW to its first victory of the season.
The game winner came early in the second half off a pass from
Jack Finnegan. Finnegan led the team with four shots and three on goal.
"Super stoked for the team to get the first win of the season," Bielic said. "We've been playing well attacking-wise and we're getting rock solid on defense."
Sophomore keeper
Carter Abbott earned his first clean sheet of the season with five saves. Four of his stops came in the second half.
"It feels great to get the dub in front of all of our great fans," Abbott said. "Outstanding Butler team, worked hard, but we got the job done."
Wisconsin finished the night with a 13-10 shot advantage over the Bulldogs despite Butler getting more shots on goal 5-4.
Next up, the Badgers play their first road game at No. 18/9 Marquette on Monday night. Live stats can be viewed
