CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Badgers finished the Cougar Classic tied for 10th place with a score for the record book.

The team went 295-291-291 to finish with a 13-over-par 877. This ties the 12th-lowest 54-hole score in program history. Wisconsin also finished ahead of the three other Big Ten competitors in the tournament — No. 22 Maryland, Michigan State and Penn State.

"Today was a strong final round and it was great to get past some teams on the last day," said head coach Todd Oehrlein. "We didn't make a lot of birdies for that course but we were pretty consistent overall."
 
In her first collegiate tournament, Vanessa Ho was the top finisher for the Badgers, coming in at 35th. She shot 74 (+2) in both the first and second round and finished out the final round with a two-under-par 70 to mark a career-low. She also recorded a 36-hole career-low of 148 and a 56-hole career-low of 218.

Also finishing among the top-50 was Emily Lauterbach. She shot an even 72 in the first round and a two-over-par 74 in the second round to lead the Badgers after day one. Lauterbach shot a 74 in the final round to finish tied for 46th place with a 220 (+4).

Mackenzie Hahn shot the lowest score in the first round for Wisconsin, carding a one-under-par 71. She finished with a 221 (+5). She was the only Badger to card two rounds under par, shooting a 71 (-1) in the first and the third rounds.

Tracy Lee shot the lowest score in the second round with a two-under-par 70 and finished with a 228 (+12).

Freshmen Chloe Chan also made her collegiate debut with the Badgers at the Cougar Classic. Chan recorded a career-low 18-hole score of 73 in the second round and a 36-hole low of 151. She finished the tournament with a 227 (+11) to mark a 54-hole career-low.

The Badgers return home to host the Badger Invitational on September 19-21.
