EAST LANSING, Mich. – Thanks to
Claire Odmark's fourth goal of the year, the Wisconsin women's soccer team extended its unbeaten run to seven games with a 1-0 win at Michigan State on Thursday night.
The Badgers (7-1-2, 2-0-0) also saw their winning streak extend to four games while handing Michigan State (6-1-2) its first setback of the fall season.
UW was in control in the first half, outshooting MSU 7-4 and had three corner kicks.
Odmark netted the game-winning goal in the 35th minute, firing the ball into the left corner of the net thanks to an assist from fellow forward
Cammie Murtha.
The Spartans outshot the Badgers 9-6 in the second half, but the UW defense held the Spartans at bay to earn the triumph.
