Badgers earn road draw at No. 18 Michigan

Wisconsin extends unbeaten streak to eight games

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Wisconsin women's soccer team extended its unbeaten run to eight games thanks to a 0-0 double overtime draw at No. 18 Michigan on Sunday afternoon. 

Emma Jaskaniec fired a shot on net just 22 seconds into the first half but it was saved by Michigan (7-1-2, 1-0-1) goalkeeper Hillary Beall. 
 
The Badgers (7-1-3, 2-0-1)  got their first corner kick opportunity in the sixth minute. Both teams received two corner kicks in the first half but neither were able to convert and headed to the second half still scoreless. 
 
Cameron Murtha had a great scoring opportunity in the 47th minute but her shot bounced off the goal post. 
 
UW created a couple of chances in the first overtime period, earning three-straight corner kicks, but were unable to get a shot on net and the two Big Ten rivals had to settle for a 0-0 tie. 
 
Goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer made one save to keep the Wolverines at bay and to earn her second-straight clean sheet. 
 
Notes to know:  
- Michigan outshot Wisconsin 13-10, while UW had 6 corner kicks to Michigan's 3. 
- Wisconsin extended their unbeaten streak to eight games. 
- The Badgers are 14-13-7 all-time against UM and are unbeaten in their last three meetings with the Wolverines. 
 
Next Up:  
The Badgers return to Madison to face Penn State at 7 p.m. on Thursday.  Admission is free for the contest at the McClimon Soccer Complex, while fans can also watch the game live on Big Ten Network.
