MADISON, Wis. – After earning back-to-back shutouts last weekend, Wisconsin women's soccer senior goalkeeper
Jordyn Bloomer was named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.
It marks the second time this year Bloomer, a Hartland native, has earned the honor from the conference and the fifth time in her career. Her five career honors are the most in league history for the award that started in 2017.
Bloomer made seven saves in UW's 1-0 win at Michigan State, which handed the Spartans their first loss of the year. The senior then saved the only shot on goal in UW's 0-0 draw at then-No. 18 Michigan on Sunday.
The No. 18 Badgers return home to host a pair of Big Ten rivals at the McClimon Soccer Complex this weekend. UW takes on Penn State on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in a BTN game before hosting Purdue on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Sunday's game is the Badgers' annual "Pac the Mac" game as UW will be giving away t-shirts before both the men's and women's games.
