AUBURN, Ala. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team (2-1) battled to the end in their first neutral-court match of the season but came up short to the Vanderbilt Commodores (1-0) Saturday afternoon in a 5-2 loss at Auburn's Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Wisconsin trailed 1-0 after the doubles competition but sophomore
Tim Dzhurinskiy put the Badgers on the board at No. 6 singles by blanking Macsen Sisam 6-0 in the first set and emerging from a back-and-forth battle in the second with a 7-5 edge.
Sebastian Vile also scored a victory for UW at No. 5 singles, defeating Siim Troost — his former teammate at Minnesota — 6-4, 6-2.
