AUBURN, Ala. — Despite a pair of upsets over ranked opponents, the Wisconsin men's tennis team (2-2) dropped a tough loss to Auburn (4-0) Sunday at Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Auburn claimed the doubles point, but the Wisconsin duo of Sebastian Vile and Robin Parts scored an impressive win over the No. 28-ranked doubles team in the country, Auburn's duo of Jan Galka and Tyler Stice. Vile and Parts claimed a 6-3 win at the No. 2 position, improving the pair to 3-1 in dual meets and 6-2 overall this season.
Senior Lenard Soha also scored an impressive upset at No. 3 singles, knocking off No. 56-ranked Tad Maclean 6-3, 6-1 to improve to 2-2 for the dual-meet season.
Up Next: The Badgers are back at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on Friday, Feb. 4, to host in-state rival Marquette at 5:30 p.m. Another non-conference match with visiting Drake follows at noon Sunday.
