Women’s Basketball Signs Team Impact’s Emma Morgan

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's basketball team, in partnership with the nonprofit organization Team IMPACT, signed nine-year-old Emma Morgan as the newest member of the program on Thursday night at a press conference held in the Kohl Center.
Emma lives with a rare syndrome called Ververi-Brady syndrome, where she is one of only 32 people in the world to be diagnosed.
As a member of the women's basketball team, Emma will be present at practices, games, team dinners and more, serving not only as a teammate, but also as an inspiration.
"We are ecstatic to have Emma join our Badger family!" exclaimed associate head coach Kate Barnosky, who was instrumental in making Emma a Badger. "She has already made such a positive impact on all of us. She is bubbly, kind-hearted and resilient, and we are lucky to have her on our team. Thank you to Team IMPACT for this incredible opportunity."
Emma comes to Wisconsin through Team IMPACT, a national nonprofit that connects kids facing serious and chronic illnesses to college athletic teams across the country. Through Team IMPACT, children with chronic illnesses are drafted onto local college athletic teams and become an official member of the team to support the child's physical, social and emotional needs.
