Healy adds two to 2023 class
Madison, Wis. – Head Coach Yvette Healy and the Wisconsin Badger softball team announced Thursday morning that Alivia Bark and Eden Echevarria have each signed a national letter of intent with the Badgers.
Alivia Bark
5-7 | INF/3B
Cordova, Ill. | Riverdale Senior High School
Club Team: Iowa Premier National
Coach Healy on Alivia: "For as great of a player as Alivia Bark is, she's an even better person. Alivia's tools of speed, defense and effort caught our eyes in recruiting. She can hit for power, drive gaps and drop bunts. Once we got to know Alivia and her family, we knew she would be a perfect fit in the Badger Softball family. Alivia is a selfless leader who plays with passion, while bringing out the best in those around her. She's a great third basemen and leader on the field, with tremendous softball IQ. The future looks bright for Badger softball with great teammates like Alivia joining the program."
Why Wisconsin: "From my very first visit at UW, I knew it was right for me. The amazing academics, athletics, and the overall energetic city of Madison is what really drew me in."
More About Alivia:
Eden Echevarria
5-3 | INF/OF
Antioch, Ill. | Antioch Community High School
Club Team: Illinois Chill Gold
Coach Healy on Eden: "Eden is an exciting, powerful, versatile recruit that has great arm-strength, power and speed. She can run it down in the outfield and throw runners out, while also playing a great second base. Her range and competiveness make her an asset on defense. Eden loves to swing for the fences, rotating on balls to all fields, generating power with how quickly she moves. She's a threat on the bases, always looking to score runs for her team. We're thrilled to add another stand out player from Gerry Quinn's Illinois Chill organization. Eden has helped lead Antioch High School to the Illinois state tournament. We're excited to follow her as she chases a state championship her senior year."
Why Wisconsin: Wisconsin has top notch academics and a growing Computer, Data & Information Sciences (CDIS) program. It has a competitive Big Ten softball team and the program continues to thrive. I love the atmosphere in Madison and how close it is to my home and family.
