ROSEMONT, Ill. - Following impressive performances, freshman
Serah Williams has been named the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Williams continued to establish herself as an all-around force for the Badgers, averaging 17.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and and 2.0 blocks per game over the week.
The native of Brooklyn New York poured in a game-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting as the Badgers routed Bradley 103-49 last Wednesday.
Williams continued her tear with 16 points and eight rebounds against defending Missouri Valley Conference champion Illinois State on Sunday. The rookie was an efficient 7-of-13 from the field and matched her season high with three blocks.
Wisconsin will return to the court for a trio of contests at the Paradise Jam, held in the U.S. Virgin Islands Nov. 24-26.
