MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin welcomes Wake Forest to the Kohl Center on Tuesday for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tip is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT at the Kohl Center.
STARTING FIVE
1.) CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: Wisconsin is 12-11 all-time in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, including a 70-66 win last season at Georgia Tech. The Badgers have a 7-3 mark at home, and have won each of their last three home games in the Challenge. UW is one of four Big Ten teams with a winning record in the Challenge.
2.) BAHAMA BADGERS: The Badgers return home after taking third place in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas. UW earned a pair of wins over Dayton and USC, and a one-point overtime loss to No. 3 Kansas.
Tyler Wahl earned all-tournament team honors after averaging 13.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game over the three-game stretch.
3.) MILESTONE MOMENT? Head coach
Greg Gard goes for career win number 150 on Tuesday, trying to become the fourth Wiscosnin coach to reach that milestone joining Hall of Famers Walter Meanwell, Bud Foster and Bo Ryan.
4.) FRESHMAN PHENOM:Â Freshman guard
Connor Essegian burst onto the scene in the Bahamas last week, leading the Badgers averaging 14.0 points per game in the three-game Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. On the season, Essegian is averaging 9.7 points per game off the bench and leads the Big Ten shooting 54.2 percent (13-for-24) from 3-point range.
5.) UP NEXT:Â Wisconsin renews the Interstate-94 rivalry when it travels to Marquette on Saturday, December 3. The Badgers own a 69-59 edge in the all-time series, including an 89-76 win last season. The game is scheduled to tip at 3:30 p.m. CT on FS1.
