Select athletes also travel to Notre Dame
MADISON, Wis.-- On Friday, the Badger men's track and field team hosts the St. Valentine's Invitational in The Shell while select athletes head to Notre Dame, Indiana, to compete in the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday.
Schools competing in Madison will be Northern Iowa, Marquette, and Milwaukee as well as unattached competitors. Field events begin at 2 p.m. and running events start at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Over in Notre Dame, the distance medley relays kicks off the day's events at 10:40 a.m. CT.

Here are the five events to watch:
1. DOMINATING THE DMR: Jackson Sharp, Adam Spencer, and Abdullahi Hassan set personal bests last weekend in Chicago, and are heading to Notre Dame to compete in the distance medley relay. Hassan is ranked second all time in 800 meters for Wisconsin while freshman Spencer ran a personal best time in the mile last weekend, ranking fifth at Wisconsin and fourth in the Big Ten this season. Jackson Sharp is ranked third all-time for Wisconsin in the 3000 meters, ranking him third in the Big Ten season. Ansel Fellman and Colin Enz will also be running on Friday.
2. UP, UP AND AWAY: Canon Melstrand leads a trio of Badgers in the pole vault. Melstrand cleared a personal best of 16 feet, 7 ¼ inches last weekend, which ranks him eighth in the Big Ten this season. He will be joined by teammates Chandlar Ifft and Hunter Cook.
3. MAGNIFICENT MILE: Shuaib Aljabaly, Nick Hruskoci, and Kavanaugh FitzPatrick will be competing in the mile run on Friday. Aljabaly ran a personal best of 4 minutes, 5.02 seconds last weekend. FitzPatrick also ran a personal best of 4:11.64 while Hruskocki just missed his career best time by .01 seconds last weekend, running 4:14.46.
4. H IS FOR HURDLES: Max Herkert, Robert Hatch, and Quinn Lansill will be competing in Friday's 60-meter hurdles. Last weekend, Hatch ran a personal best of 8.40.
5. FLAVOR OF THE FIELD EVENTS: Andrew Stone, Dan Ufearo, Cole Hooper, Sam Coil, and Jason Swarens will compete in this weekend in the weight throw and shot put. All five athletes have recorded personal best this season with Stone leading the Badgers in the shot put and Coil having the top mark in the weight throw.
