STANFORD, Calif. – The Wisconsin men's and women's track teams traveled to the Stanford Invitational on Friday with seven of eight athletes competing, running personal bests.
Shea Ruhly ran a personal best in the 10,000 meters, moving into 10th on the Wisconsin record list. The redshirt sophomore finished 12th in the in in 33 minutes, 30.02 seconds to move on to the all-time performance list. Her time leads the Big Ten Conference this season and ranks 14th nationally.
Graduate student
Danielle Orie also ran a personal best time in the 10,000 meters, crossing in 33:57.17, beating her previous time by nearly one minute. Senior
Scarlet Dale improved her personal best in the 10,000 meters by nearly five minutes, finishing in 34:21.72.
In the men's 10,000 meters, senior
Charlie Wheeler led the Badgers in the 23rd place. He improved his personal best time by nearly a minute, crossing in 28:55.28. Senior
Seth Hirsch finished 27th in 29:09.02. Junior
Shuaib Aljabaly also ran a personal best, crossing in 29:11.20. The Badgers rank second and third, respectively, in the Big Ten this season.
Sophomore
Evan Bishop competed in the 5,000 meters, running a personal best time of 13:55.37, an improvement of 15 seconds.
In the women's 1,500 meters, sophomore
Victoria Heiligenthal finished eighth in a personal best time of 4:22.12.Â
Up Next
The Badgers head to the Jim Click Shootout in Tucson, Arizona, next weekend. The meet runs Thursday-Saturday with the women's heptathlon and men's decathlon on Thursday and Friday while all open events will be held on Saturday.
