Konwent named to USA Softball Top 25 List

Senior continued to rake in accolades in her return to the Badgers
MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin softball senior Kayla Konwent was named to the the list of Top 25 finalists for the 2022 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Wednesday afternoon as the Wisconsin native makes this list for the second time in her career, the first coming in 2019.
Konwent made the return to softball this season after taking two years away from the sport during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the sports world wondering what a prolonged break like that would do to the 2019 Big Ten Player of the Year and First-Team All-American, Konwent's team leading .452 batting average, 8 home runs, 25 RBI's, 42 hits and .796 slugging percentage this season has shown she hasn't skipped a beat.
The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award recognizes outstanding athletic achievement by Division I female collegiate softball players from across the country and is considered the most distinguished individual honor in Division I college softball.
Konwent and the Badgers will look to build on their success so far this season as Wisconsin takes on No. 25 Nebraska this weekend in Madison.
