Five Things to Know: Badgers host Big Ten foes

Wisconsin takes on No. 26 Northwestern and Illinois at Nielsen
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team returns to Nielsen Tennis Stadium after more than a month on the road by hosting No. 26 Northwestern and Illinois this weekend.
1. Another Day, Another Clinch: The Badgers claimed their fourth 4-3 victory of the season last weekend after holding off Nebraska on the road. After winning the doubles point, Wisconsin found itself down 3-1. Jared Pratt, Gabriel Huber and Sebastian Vile each won their singles matches in three sets to secure the win and improve the Badgers to 2-1 in Big Ten play and 8-8 overall.
2. Know the Opponent: Northwestern is 13-7 on the season and coming off a split weekend in which it downed Michigan State 6-1 and fell to Michigan 5-2. The No. 26-ranked Wildcats stand just behind the Badgers at fourth in the Big Ten standings with a conference record of 2-2. Their other league results include a 4-3 win over Penn State and a 4-0 loss to Ohio State.
On the other hand, the Fighting Illini are 9-11 on the season, most recently beating Butler by a score of 4-1 and posting a 6-1 victory over Michigan State. Seven of the Illini's losses have been at the hands of top-10 ranked teams, but they were able to grab a 4-2 win over No. 22-ranked North Carolina back in early February. Illinois travels to take on the Huskers on Friday evening before stopping in Madison for Sunday's match.
3. Badgers Host Big Ten Tournament: Nielsen Tennis Stadium is the host site for the 2022 Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament, taking place from April 28 to May 1. Tournament play with open on Thursday, April 28, with two opening-round matches, followed by four quarterfinal contests on Friday and the semifinals on Saturday. The championship match will occur on Sunday, May 1. All matches will be live streamed via B1G+.
