MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Women's soccer team took on the Loyola Ramblers on a beautiful Thursday evening for their first home game at McClimon Field. The Badgers struck first in the 41st minute, but the Ramblers delivered an equalizer with just over two minutes to play as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Both the lead and the momentum was on the Badgers side as they outshot the Ramblers 8-1 over the first 45 minutes. Maia Richters netted her first career goal off a feed from Emma Jaskaniec in the 41st minute, giving Wisconsin a 1-0 advantage heading into the half.
However, it was a battle in the net that kept this game tight. Erin McKinney proved why she was the Big Ten Co-Goalkeeper of the Week with a stellar save in the 30th minute. Despite that, the Ramblers were persistent in their efforts on goal and equalized in the 88th minute.
The Badgers will remain at home as they welcome Green Bay on Sunday at 1 p.m.
