Wisconsin Athletics Hosts Inaugural Pride Game

Badgers’ First-Ever Pride Game to Support Madison LGBTQ+ Community presented by BMO
Madison, Wis. -Â Join the Wisconsin Badgers as they host UW's inaugural Pride Game at women's basketball presented by BMO. Fans will have the opportunity to participate in a number of gameday activities supporting and creating awareness for the LGBTQIA+ community in Madison.

"It is important to me that Wisconsin Athletics is a place where everyone – student-athletes, coaches and staff – feels welcome and safe to be their authentic selves," said Director of Athletics Chris McIntosh. "This first Pride Game is a way for us to welcome and connect with the LGBTQIA+ community inside and outside of our department and I am thankful to our partners at BMO for joining us in this effort."
The first ever Pride Game event for the Badgers will take place on Thursday, January 19th as the Badgers take on Maryland at the Kohl Center. Tip-off is 6:30pm.
"We are so excited to host our program's first Pride game. We understand the importance of visibility and providing inclusive spaces and cannot wait welcome the LGBTQIA+ community and allies to the Kohl Center," said Head Coach Marisa Moseley. "Tell your friends to tell their friends."

"As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a member of this staff, it's an honor to host the athletic departments first Pride Game," added assistant coach Caroline Doty. "We've been given the opportunity to celebrate, provide education, and highlight local LGBTQIA+ businesses. Awareness is so important and hosting this allows us to offer a safe space for the community - if it helps even just one person, be it a student-athlete, staff or fan, feel like they belong, this event will be a success!"

Happy Hour
Mix and mingle with the LGBTQ+ community at the game. For $25 you'll enjoy a game ticket in the Nicholas Club, two drink tickets and snacks. Networking in the premium space begins at 5:30pm and continues during the game. Purchase Happy Hour tickets HERE.

Show your support for the Madison LGBTQ+ Community with a limited-edition, Wisconsin Pride hat! All fans will receive the giveaway, while supplies last, courtesy of BMO.

Resource Fair
Prior to the Badgers taking on the Terps, all fans will have the opportunity to take part in a free resource fair on the concourse. Interact with staff from a number of local LGBTQ+ organizations. Non-profit organizations looking to participate in the Resource Fair, should contact the Wisconsin Athletic Marketing Office at marketing@UWBadgers.com.
