MADISON, Wis. — After three days of play, Wisconsin men's golf tied for ninth at the 2023 Badger Invitational.
The Badgers finished three-over par at their home tournament, totaling a 296-294-277=867.
Jacob Beckman and
Cameron Huss each finished one-under par to tie for 19th and lead UW's golfers at University Ridge. Both Badgers tied their career 18-hole low scores in the event. Badgers competing in the individual tournament at TPC Wisconsin were led by
Graham Moody, who tied for 13th place at 11-over par.Â
Florida Golf Coast University won the competitive field after carding 13-under par at the end of three rounds. South Alabama's Joshua Hill paced all golfers at eight-under par.Â
Tuesday, October 3
Round 3 - Badger Invitational
Wisconsin finished the Badger Invitational off strong by carding a 277 (-11) for their best round yet.Â
Beckman and
Coalter Smith pushed ahead in the final round, each shooting a four-under 68. Beckman grabbed an eagle on Hole 15, joining Smith who tallied one in the previous round. Huss also found himself under par as he shot a three-under 69 with five birdies.
Blake Wisdom made par with an eagle on Hole 16, while
Carter Pitcairn carded an eight-over 80 with four birdies.  Â
Monday, October 2
Round 2 - Badger Invitational
UW carded a 294 (+6) in the second round of the tournament, placing 14th after 36 holes.Â
Beckman improved his score by five strokes from the first round, shooting a one-under 71 with a team-leading five birdies. Wisdom followed closely with a one-over 73.Â
Huss carded a two-over 74, while Smith tallied a four-over 76 and the team's first eagle of the invitational. Pitcairn rounded out the lineup with a six-over 78.
Round 3 - Badger Individual
Moody led the Wisconsin golfers in the Badger Individual tournament, shooting a two-under 69 in the final round to finish 11-over par.
Daniel Aas,
James Boustead and
Spencer Turtz each completed the tournament at 15-over par.
McCord Grice finished out the three rounds at 23-over par, while
Ryan Smith carded a 27-over par.Â
Sunday, October 1
Round 1 - Badger Invitational
Wisconsin opened up the Badger Invitational by shooting a 296 (+8) to place 14th.
Wisdom and Huss each made par to lead the Badgers in the first round. Wisdom paced the team in birdies with five.
C. Smith and Beckman both carded a four-over 76, while Pitcairn wrapped up the lineup with an eight-over 80.
Rounds 1 & 2 - Badger Individual
Aas paced the Badger Individuals, completing the first day at six-over par. Boustead carded an 11-over par, while Turtz shot a 12-over par. Moody followed closely at 13-over par and R. Smith carded a 15-over par. Grice finished out the day at 19-over par.Â
