MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's hockey junior Lacey Eden, sophomore Caroline Harvey and freshman Cassie Hall all received WCHA September monthly awards following a dominant sweep over Lindenwood, the league announced Tuesday.
Eden was named the WCHA Forward of the Month, while Harvey won WCHA Defender of the Month and Hall was chosen as the WCHA Rookie of the Month.
Eden, an Annapolis, Maryland, native, picks up her second career WCHA Forward of the Month honor as she last won the award in September 2022. The junior posted five goals during the No. 1 Badgers' sweep of Lindenwood, which led the country during the month. Her five points were tied for the second most in the WCHA in September, trailing only linemate Britta Curl who had six. She also was one of only three players in the league to record a shorthanded goal.
Harvey – a 2022 Olympian – picks up her first WCHA Defender of the Month Award. The USA Hockey Bob Allen Women's Player of the Year posted five points in UW's 16- 1 win on Friday, recording her first goal of the season before adding four assists in the triumph. Her +11 plus/minus rating was the best in the NCAA during the month, and she set a school record with a +9 plus/minus rating on Friday.
In her second career game as a Badger, Hall tallied four goals, becoming the seventh UW player to record four or more goals in a game and only the second freshman to accomplish the feat, joining Brooke Ammerman in the freshman four-goal club. The South Lyon, Michigan, native ended her first weekend of collegiate hockey with four points, which was tied for third among all league skaters.
The No. 1 Badgers return home to welcome Boston College to LaBahn Arena on Thursday and Friday. Puck drop for both games is set for 7 p.m. and Friday's contest is sold out.
