MADISON, WIS. – New head coach Mike Hastings secured his first two victories with Wisconsin men's hockey as they completed a series sweep of Augustana with a 3-0 win on Sunday night at the Kohl Center.
Senior goalie Kyle McClellan had another perfect performance in net, making history as the first Wisconsin goaltender to record back-to-back shutouts in the same weekend versus the same team. He saved 18 shots on Sunday after 25 on Saturday for a weekend total of 43 stops.
Graduate student Owen Lindmark also had a stand-out performance, netting two goals and one assist over the 60 minutes.
To kick things off, senior forward Carson Bantle recorded his first goal of the season seven minutes into the first period. Sophomore forward Jack Horbach skillfully skated the puck into the Vikings' territory before passing to Owen Lindmark on his left. Lindmark passed across the ice to Bantle who immediately shot the puck towards the net, beating the right glove of Augustana goaltender Josh Kotai.
The Wisconsin veterans continued to be the stars of the night after a second period goal by Lindmark doubled the Badgers' lead. Sophomore defenseman
Tyson Jugnauth passed to freshman forward
Quinn Finley who was stationed in the center of the Augustana zone. Finley took a shot on net, and Lindmark picked up the rebound before skating around the back of the net and banking the puck off the goaltender's stick for the finish.
Lindmark picked up his second tally of the night deep into the third period with an unassisted empty-net goal. He picked up the puck in the middle of Wisconsin ground before rushing to the neutral zone and sinking a long shot into the goaltender-less net.

On graduate student forward Owen Lindmark:
"There aren't many guys that you like seeing more at the rink than
Owen Lindmark. He's got a smile on his face. He's ok going to work. He cares about others. He does things the right way. We are gonna need different guys to step up at different times. We needed that this weekend, and [Lindmark] did.
On winning the series at home:
"I want them to feel good walking out of this building because this is our house, we took care of our house. Those are positives."
