UW jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the fourth, behind four kills from Franklin combined with two blocks during that stretch. Purdue put together a run of their own and forced a Wisconsin timeout as the Boilermakers trailed 11-17. However, out of the timeout, the Badgers went on a 4-0 run and used that momentum to close out the match with a 25-14 victory.

Head Coach Kelly Sheffield
On responding after the second set: "One thing I wanted to make sure that we knew is that second isn't anything more than what it is. You take that away, we had six hitting errors in three other sets. We were siding out at close to 80%, you take that away, these guys were hitting under .100. I thought for 70% of the match, we were awfully good against one of the better teams in the country. A great win, an even better way to respond."
Setter Izzy Ashburn
On defense regarding gritty mentality: I think that's really reflected in those numbers of just like, if it's close to me and I can get it up, I'm gonna get it up. Doesn't matter the circumstances, doesn't matter the position, that's just what we're trying to do. That's mentality. It's also a trust from player to player. I don't feel like I have to do anything more than my job and I think other people feel that same way.
Setter MJ Hammill
On Sarah Franklin: "She's a great hitter. And she can place the ball anywhere and see the court really well. So having her back there, it's super hard to defend and it's something we have to do every single day of practice. But I mean, these numbers that she's putting up, like in this match, it says 22 kills and she hit .513 as an outside. That's insane. That's numbers that you see from a middle and seriously, she does the work behind the scenes and she does the work on the court for that to happen. She's working hard in transition. So that truly is just a testament to her, her passion and her hard work."
