INDIANAPOLIS - The Wisconsin men's rowing program traveled this past weekend to compete in the Bald Eagle Collegiate Invitational at Eagle Creek Park.

Wisconsin had boats in four different races. In the morning session, the Badgers landed back-to-back second-place finishes. The Novice A boat came in second place in a seven-boat field and the varsity four boat raced just after, taking second in a four-boat field.

The afternoon session featured a competitive 15-boat field with Wisconsin entering three boats. Wisconsin A came in first place with a time of 13:24.6. Wisconsin B's time was 14:16.1, good enough for a seventh-place finish. Wisconsin C was not too far behind with a time of 14:47.8, an 11th-place finish.

Up Next: The Badgers are set to take the winter off from races and prepare for regattas in the spring.

"I'm glad we were able to return to Indy to race this year. It provides a race with more teams and another racing setting for our freshmen who just started rowing a little over a month ago. Each race and each stroke are valuable to their growth, so getting them out there is important."

"We talked about the value of each stroke during a race and how you have to be relentless on the oar handle the whole time. We saw that some off strokes can make the difference in placing because sometimes it comes down to the millisecond. We have work to do in the coming weeks we have left on the water and then during the winter months on the erg to get to where we want to be. I know some of these guys can be contributors in the spring - they need to be."
