MADISON, Wis. - The Badgers (7-16, 2-9 B1G) came up short, 90-67, against No. 10 Ohio State in a hard-fought battle at the Kohl Center on Wednesday night.
Serah Williams recorded her seventh straight game in double figures, and her second 20-point game in a row, as she paced the Badgers with 23 points, shooting 9-for-12 from the field.
Avery LaBarbera finished the night with 17 points, and went 4-for-5 from behind the arc. Julie Pospisilova added 11 points.
The Badgers shot 60% in the first quarter and held Ohio State to 41.7% shooting in the second quarter. Wisconsin trailed 45-34 at half.
The Badgers came out in the second half on a 5-0 run to cut into Ohio State's lead. Wisconsin got it to a one-point deficit, 50-49, at the six-minute mark of the third quarter with a 3-pointer from Brooke Schramek.
The Buckeyes answered that with a 5-0 run and extended their lead to take a 70-57 lead at the end of the third. Ohio State ultimately pulled away, and outscored Wisconsin, 20-10 in the final quarter.
The Buckeyes (20-3, 9-3 B1G) were led by Taylor Thierry and Taylor Mikesell, who finished the night with 25 and 21 points, respectively.
Up next, the Badgers will travel to Piscataway, New Jersey to play Rutgers on Sunday afternoon. Tip is set for 1 p.m.
