MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's basketball team will return to the Kohl Center to face the Michigan State Spartans on Wednesday night. Tip is set for 6:30 p.m. The game will be available on B1G+ and WTSO.

Here are five things to know before the game:

  1. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers (7-17, 2-10 Big Ten) fell to Rutgers on Sunday afternoon, 73-67, in a back-and-forth battle. Avery LaBarbera led the team with 16 points and went 4-for-6 from behind the three-point arc. Maty Wilke and Julie Pospisilova both added 15 points apiece, with 10 of Wilke's points coming in the final quarter.

  2. B1G FRESHMAN: For the second time this season, Serah Williams earned Big Ten Freshman of the week honors. In conference play, Williams is averaging 18.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and ranks third in the conference with 1.7 blocks per game.

  3. TURNOVER TROUBLES: The Badgers are averaging 18 turnovers per game, while their opponents are averaging 14.7 points off the miscues. Wisconsin has turned the ball over at least 20 times in nine of the last 11 games. But, the Badgers are averaging only 13.3 turnovers per game in their wins this season. 

  4. SCOUTING THE SPARTANS: The Spartans (11-12, 3-9 Big Ten) are coming off a 77-67 loss to No. 18/19 Michigan on Sunday afternoon, their third straight loss. The Spartans are led by graduate student Kamaria McDaniel, averaging 13.9 points per game. Matilda Ekh is averaging 12.6 points per game for the Spartans, and is shooting 40.4% from behind the arc.

  5. HISTORY WITH MICHIGAN STATE:  Wisconsin trails in the overall series with Michigan State, 5-18. The Badgers came out on top in their first meeting this season in January. Serah Williams posted a career-high 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Badgers defeated the Spartans, 84-80, in an overtime thriller.
