Bacon earns second All-America honor

Carlson makes another finals appearance
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The 23rd-ranked Wisconsin women's swim team completed day three of the NCAA Championships at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. The Badgers are 16th in the team race with 67 points after 14 events.

Junior Phoebe Bacon started the finals session on a successful note with a fourth-place finish in the 100 back. Bacon picks up her second All-America accolade of the meet, hitting the wall in 50.54 seconds.Â

Sophomore Abby Carlson was the only other Badger to compete individually in the finals on day three. She hit the wall in 1:44.52 seconds in the 200 free and placed 14th to secure second-team All-America honors.
Wisconsin also just missed scoring in the 400 medley relay. The team of Bacon, Hazal Ozkan, Mallory Jump and Abby Wanezek finished 18th in 3:32.35.Â

Day four of the NCAA Championship kicks on Saturday at 9 a.m. CT with preliminaries in the 200 back, 1650 free, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and platform dive. Finals in all events as well as the 400 medley relay begin at 5 p.m. CT. The championship will be streamed on ESPN+.
