STANFORD, Calif. - The Wisconsin men's track and field team wrapped up the Stanford Invitational on Saturday with two first-place finishes while also setting eight personal bests.

Amborn, Spencer win events

Redshirt senior Cade Amborn and sophomore Adam Spencer won events for the Badgers.

In the javelin throw, Amborn took the win, throwing a personal best of 182 feet, 9 inches.

On Saturday, Australia-native Adam Spencer ran a personal record in the 800 meters at 1 minute, 48.75 seconds to win his section.

Badgers record top-10 marks

In the 10,000-meter run, 2022 Big Ten cross country champion Bob Liking finished seventh in the top section, running a personal best of 28:00.77. Liking is now second all-time at UW, trailing only Mohammed Ahmed's Big Ten-record time of 27:34.64 set in 2012, and leads in the Big Ten this season.

Grad student Sam Coil moved up to sixth all time at UW in the hammer, finishing third with a personal best of 206-5. His throw ranks ninth in the Big Ten this season. Cole Hooper finished sixth with a toss of 197-5 while redshirt freshman Nick Tomasovic placed third in the collegiate hammer throw, setting a new personal record with a toss of 180-11.

Also in the throws, Jason Swarens placed second in the collegiate discus with a toss of 171-3 while sophomore Jake Schaefer finished sixth with a throw of 163-0. In the invitational discus, Andrew Stone placed eighth at 169-11. Swarens also finished fourth in the shot put invite with a toss of 62-8 and Stone placed fifth at 60-3 ¾.

Transfer Justin Kiefel picked up two top-10 places, finishing fifth in the long jump with a personal best of 23-8 ¾. He also placed seventh in the triple jump invitational at 48-7 ¼.
