LOS ANGELES – The Wisconsin women's track and field team completed the final day of competition in California at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, and Beach Invitational in Long Beach. The Badgers set two new personal best marks on the final day of competition.
Mt. SAC Relays
Saturday field events got off to a hot start as graduate student Josie Schaefer won the shot put with a distance of 62 feet, 3 ¼ inches. This throw was a personal best for Schaefer and places her on top of UW's all-time list. Schaefer broke the record of 60-10 ¾ set by Kelsey Card in 2016.
Chloe Lindeman also competed in a field event as for the third time in four days she participated in the hammer throw. Lindeman finished ninth overall in the elite category with a distance of 212-2.
Destiny Huven was the lone Badger competing in a track event, finishing eighth in the 100-meter hurdles in 13.38.
Bryan Clay Invitational
A trio of athletes competed in the pole vault, Tia Dorshorst, Julia Moore, and Kenzi Kluge. Moore and Dorshorst tied for sixth place with a clearance of 12-3 ½. Kluge also cleared 12-3 ½ but finished ninth due to more misses.
Beach Invitational
Kiley Robbins took third place in a stacked 100-meter event, crossing the finish line in 11.50. Taylor Gilling and Rachel Robinson also competed in the 100 meters with Gilling finishing 14th in 11.79 and Robinson running a personal best time of 12.06 to take 26th.
Robbins continued her successful weekend as she led a pack of Badgers in the 200 meters. Robinson won her heat and scored a fourth-place overall finish with a time of 24.19.
For the second time this weekend Danielle Bellino competed in the 800 meters, finishing third overall in 2:08.53.
Up Next
The team will travel to Des Monies, Iowa for the Drake Relays on April 26-29. Select athletes will travel to Penn Relays in Philadelphia, events will begin April 27 and run through the April 29.
