PHILADELPHIA – The Wisconsin women's track and field team wrapped up a busy weekend on Saturday after competing at the Penn Relays since Thursday morning.
Opening day
Chloe Lindeman opened up the weekend competition as she competed in the hammer throw, earning a sixth-place finish with a distance of 196 feet and 11 inches.
Leane Willemse and Alexa Westley competed alongside each other in the 5,000-meter run, both setting personal bests in the event. Willemse finished 10th with a time of 16 minutes, 9.43 seconds while Westley finished 15th crossing in 16:13.56.
UW also scored three top-20 finishes in the 1,500-meter run. Victoria Heiligenthal led the pack finishing in 4:19.94, earning a ninth-place finish. Lucinda Crouch and Kylie both set personal bests finishing in 4:21.78 and 4:23.29, respectively.
Schaefer wins on day two
Graduate student Josie Schaefer highlighted the second day of competition as she won the collegiate discus throw with a distance of 160-10. Danni Langseth also competed in throws on Friday, competing in the shot put, finishing eighth with 45-7 ¼.
Armoni Brown also competed in field events, finishing third in the long jump with a leap of 19-2 ¾.
Destiny Huven finished third in her heat of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.68, this time qualified her for the finals Saturday afternoon.
The 4x100meter relay squad of Brown, Huven, Kiley Robbins, and Taylor Gilling crossed in 45.83 seconds, scoring an 11th-place finish and ranking fifth all-time at UW in the event.
Final day in Philly
The 4x1500-meter relay squad of Madison Mooney, Kylie Finger, Emma Watcke and Heiligenthal finished seventh overall in 17.27.25, which ranks them second all time at UW.
Schaefer was back competing and walked away with her second win of the weekend as she won the Invitational shot put with a distance of 58-2. For the second time this weekend, Langseth was back competing in the discus throw she threw for a distance of 145-11, to earn a fifth-place finish.
Huven competed in the Championship of America hurdles, taking seventh with a time of 13.77.

Wisconsin hosts the Wisconsin Alumni Classic at the McClimon track complex on Friday, May 5, the final event prior to the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Field events begin at 1 p.m. with running events starting at 3:30 p.m. The Badgers will recognize their graduating seniors at the meet.
