Pospisilova signs with Baxi Ferrol

Former Badger begins her professional career in Spain

MADISON, Wis. - Former Wisconsin women's basketball standout Julie Pospisilova is ready to begin her professional career, as she signed with Baxi Ferrol in Spain.

Baxi Ferrol competes in Liga Femenina Endesa, which is the highest level of play for women's basketball in Spain.

Pospisilova, the first Badger from the Czech Republic, was the first player in program history born outside of the U.S. to reach the 1,000 career points milestone. Pospisilova finished her career with a stat line of 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.

The Prague native was a two-time All-Big Ten Honorable Mention, earning the distinction in each of her final two seasons in Madison. She started in 89-of-112 games played and led the team in scoring in each of the last two seasons, averaging 14.1 points per game.
