MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's soccer team is back in action at McClimon on August 17 at 7 p.m. (CT) for its opening match of the 2023 season. The Badgers will square off against Kansas and look to start the season on a high.
Admission is free for all UW regular-season matches and fans can also stream the game live through

The Badgers will hold a Back to School Drive as fans are encouraged to donate school supplies that will be distributed to various Boys and Girls Clubs around the Madison area. Donation bins will be available at the entrance to McClimon and fans that can't make it to Thursday's game can donate school supplies through the Amazon Wishlist link found
here.

1. LOOKING BACK: The team is coming off a successful 2022 campaign that saw the Badgers finish 11-5-3 overall. In conference play Wisconsin finished 6-3-1, which placed the team third in the Big Ten standings.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Three Badgers have been named to the Big Ten Conference's players to watch for the 2023 season. Those players are
Emma Jaskaniec,
Aryssa Mahrt, and
Macy Monticello. In addition, UW was pegged to finish fifth in the Big Ten Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
3. ROSTER BREAKDOWN: The Badgers have a strong returning squad, only losing a few members from the 2022-23 roster. In come nine freshman, who will help bolster the squad, providing both depth and a couple potential starters for 2023. This year's roster is comprised of exactly 31 players.
4. ON THE WORLD STAGE: Wisconsin women's soccer legend Rose Lavelle made her second World Cup appearance this summer for the U.S. The two-time Big Ten Midfielder of the Year provided a crucial assist in Team USA's 1-1 draw against the Netherlands and she appeared in all three group stage matches for the U.S.
5. UP NEXT: Wisconsin will be back at home to face UIC at 1 p.m. (CT) on Sunday.
