CHICAGO – The Wisconsin women's track and field team won four events and recorded seven new personal best marks at the Wisconsin Midwest Invitational at Gately Stadium on Saturday. In the meet, the Badgers competed against DePaul, Milwaukee, Purdue, and Southern Illinois. 

Middle Distance and Distance Standouts 

All five Badgers finished in the top-15 in the mile, with two athletes finishing with new personal best times. Junior Maggie Munson crossed the finish line first in a time of four minutes, 55.17 seconds, following close behind was sophomore Bella Jacobsen, who crossed in 4:59.77. Redshirt junior Erinn Hill followed Jacobsen, crossing with a personal best time of 5:02.70. Rounding out the Badgers in the event were Annika Elliot and Anna Schoesser, who crossed the line one after the other in 5:06.59 and 5:12.57, respectively.  

Mya Bunke was the lone Badger competing in the 800 meters, going on to win the event with a time of 2:12.33.  Madelaine Sweeney led a pack of Badgers in the 3000 meters she finished with a personal best time of 10:00.06. It was a back-to-back finish from Myra Stray and Mikaela Helling, finishing eighth and ninth in 10:14.16 and 10:15.34, respectively. Two personal bests were followed by Megan Lee, finishing 10th in 10:16.03, and Ashley Peterson, finishing 11th in 10:19.01. 

Langseth, Lindeman, and Moore win field events

Six Badgers finished among the top-10 performers in the weight throw.  Chloe Lindeman threw for a distance of 72 feet, 7 3/4 inches (22.14 meters) to win the event. Her mark leads the Big Ten and ranks fifth nationally. Olivia Roberts took home second in 71-3 1/4 (21.72m), Abby Peeler finished fourth with a toss of 67-2 (20.47m). Chikere Oduocha placed sixth with a personal best distance of  66-5 ¼ (20.26m), putting her ninth on Wisconsin's All-Time list,

Asia Rave took sixth at 63-2 ¼ (19.46m)  while Danni Langseth was eighth at 61-0 (18.59m). Taylor Kesner, who competed unattached for UW in the event, was third with a mark of 68-11 1/4 (21.01m)

Langseth was back competing in the shot put, the redshirt sophomore went on to win the event with a distance of 50-6 ¼ (15.40m). 

Junior Julia Moore led the way for the Badgers in the pole vault, clearing 13-1 (3.99m) to win the event. Two Badgers also earned themselves top 10 finishes, Kenzie Kluge finished fifth with a clearance of 11-4 ½ (3.47m), and Olivia Gentile cleared a new personal best of 11-4 1/2 (3.47m). 

Other top finishers
Senior Kiley Robinson took second in the 60-meter dash in 7.41, while Taylor Gilling came in seventh in 7.78. Shaina Zinter took third in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing in 8.64.  The Wisconsin 4x400 squad of Maggie Munson, Sydney Robinson, Annika Elliot, and Anna Schoesser brought home a second-place finish, finishing with a time of 4:06.06. 

Zinter showed her range as she finished fourth in the long jump, covering 17 feet and 11 ¾ inches (5.48m), while freshman Kyla Saleh soared 17-9 1/4 (5.42m), earning herself a fifth-place finish.

Most of the Badgers will travel to Iowa City, Iowa, next Friday-Saturday for the Larry Wieczorek Invitational. Select Athletes will also head to Ripon College on Saturday.
