UW will honor veterans at Saturday night's game versus No. 1 Oregon
Camp Randall Stadium’s military connection has deep roots. A former Union Army training camp during the Civil War, more than 70,000 troops trained on the Camp Randall grounds. Wisconsin Athletics is proud of that history and honored to celebrate Military Appreciation at this Saturday’s game versus No. 1 Oregon.
Hundreds of Veterans will be hosted with a pregame tailgate, on-field participation in the national anthem and tickets to the game. The tailgate, hosted by UW Veterans Services, will take place at Camp Randall Memorial Park, just east of Camp Randall Stadium.
Wisconsin Athletics will also celebrate a Veteran of the Game who is given a unique experience and celebrated alongside Camp Randall’s new POW/MIA Chair of Honor. Located on the Summit Credit Union Fifth Quarter Patio of the South End Zone, the Chair of Honor is dedicated to those American heroes that are still POW/MIA. The empty seat symbolizes that there will always be a place in Camp Randall stadium awaiting their return.
Wisconsin Athletics is also proud to partner with the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) to help provide free tickets to every Badger home football, basketball and hockey game to the U.S. military community, Veterans and their families. Fans are able to donate their tickets to Vet Tix through their online UW Badgers tickets account. For more information, click here.
