AUSTIN, Texas. – The No. 14 Wisconsin men's swimming team picked up seven NCAA qualifying marks and nine top-10 finishes on the opening day of the Texas Invite.
The 200 free relay team of Taiko Torepe-Ormsby, Ben Wiegand, Chris Morris and Cooper Scharff finished with a time of 1:17.43, which ranks seventh all-time at UW.
In the 500 freestyle, Yoav Romano, Yigit Aslan, Luukas Vainio and Charlie Jones all picked up NCAA "B" cut qualifying times. Romano's time of 4:16.63 ranks eighth all time at UW, Aslan's time of 4:17.07 ranks ninth and Vainio's 4:19.13 ranks tenth.
Chris Morris and Dominik Mark Torok both grabbed NCAA "B" cut times as well, with Morris' 1:43.87 ranking sixth and Torok's 1:43.89 ranking seventh.
Taiko Torepe-Ormsby also clinched an NCAA "B" cut in the 50 free with a time of 19.28, which ranks fourth on the UW all time list

The Badgers will continue competition tomorrow at both the Texas and Georgia Invite. Preliminaries begin at 10 am in Texas, with finals at 6 pm. In Georgia, prelims begin at 10:30 am and finals kick off at 4:45 pm.
