Madison, Wis. -  We are excited to launch our semester-long literacy campaign with our Book it With Bucky program in partnership with TDS and the Madison Reading Project. From February to March, Wisconsin Athletics will foster and celebrate young readers to encourage reading outside of the classroom. 

This season, students in 6th grade or below are encouraged to take the 'Reading Pledge' and embark on a literary adventure alongside Bucky Badger. Every time a student hits their chosen reading goals, a parent, guardian, or teacher can initial the 'Book it With Bucky' reading log. As a token of support, Wisconsin Athletics is delighted to provide complimentary tickets to a Wisconsin Softball game on April 21st for each and every student who takes the pledge.

Before the Wisconsin Softball game, Wisconsin Athletics, in collaboration with TDS and the Madison Reading Project, will host a pre-game celebration where students can exchange their completed reading logs for an array of fantastic prizes!

Additionally, 'Book it With Bucky' content will be accessible every other week, beginning in February and continuing through the end of March. This content, including bookmarks with your favorite Wisconsin Athletes, reading worksheets, and more will be available through emails to those who take the pledge! To be added to the email list, fill out the reading pledge and start receiving the Book it With Bucky activity packets. As a bonus this season, Madison Reading Project will be hosting Badger celebrity readers at a variety of their programs!

Wisconsin Athletics invites all young readers to share their reading journeys, favorite books, and memorable reading moments on social media using the hashtag #BookitWithBucky. Your stories could be featured on the Badgers Give Back Instagram, inspiring fellow readers.
