
Five things to know: Badgers to compete in two meets

Wisconsin travels to LSU and Stanford for a busy weekend of competition
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's track and field team continues its outdoor season, traveling to Palo Alto, California, for the Stanford Invitational from Friday, March 29th, through Saturday, March 30th. Events begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday and will continue at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Cobb Track and Angell Field.
Select athletes will also compete on the same dates in the Battle of the Bayou in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. On Friday, events will begin at 12:30 p.m. and resume at 10:00 am at the Bernie Moore Stadium on Saturday.
Live results will be available for both meets, while the Stanford Invitational will be shown live on FloTrack.

Here are five things to know before the weekend:
1. THROWING DOWN WITH THE BADGERS: Wisconsin throwers will compete at LSU for the second straight weekend following Asia Rave's win in the hammer throw. In the hammer throw, Rave will be joined by Danni Langseth, Abby Peeler, Chikere Oduocha, and Olivia Roberts. Rave won the hammer throw at the Keyth Talley Invitational, throwing for 192 feet, 4 inches (58.62m), a personal best for the junior. She is currently seventh on UW's All-Time Outdoor List in the event.
Redshirt sophomore Danni Langseth will also be back competing after another successful weekend. She finished third in the hammer throw with a distance of 185-10 (56.66m) and third in the discus throw with a distance of 156-9 (47.78m). She is also set to compete in the shot put this weekend.
2. TRIO OF HEPTATHLETES: Shaina Ziner, Kyla Saleh, and Maddie Hogan will be back competing in heptathlon events this weekend. All three athletes will compete in the 100-meter hurdles. Zinter and Hogan will also compete in the javelin throw. Zinter will be back competing in the 400-meter hurdles, while Saleh and Hogan will compete in the 200 meters. Saleh will finish the day competing in the high jump.
3. LAPS LAPS AND MORE LAPS: Four women will compete in distance events at the Stanford Invitational. Victoria Heiligenthal and Bella Jacbosen will start the day by competing in the 5000 meters. Heiligenthal goes into the event with a personal best time of 16 minutes, 25 seconds, and Jacobsen 16:46.33.
Alexa Westley and Leane Willemse will cap off day one in the 10,000 meters at 12:02 a.m. CT, in the event Westley has a personal best time of 33:17.64, while Willemse's is 33:20.00.
4. MIDDLE DISTANCE MAYHEM: A strong field of middle-distance runners will compete in Palo Alto this weekend. Graduate student Maddie Mooney and junior Mya Bunke will compete alongside each other in both the 800 meters and the 1500 meters. Mooney is coming off a sixth-place finish in the 8000 meters at the 2024 Big Ten Indoor Championships. Maya Rayle and Leane Willemse will join the two in the 1500 meters.
5. UP NEXT: The Badgers kick off a four-meet stretch in California, competing at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in Long Beach and the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa from Thursday, April 11th through Saturday, the 13th. Select athletes will also compete in the Cal State LA Twilight Open in Los Angeles on Friday, April 12-13.
