MADISON, Wis.– The Wisconsin women's track and field team wrapped up a busy weekend of competition on Saturday with athletes out west at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Beach Invitational, and UCLA Legends Invitational. Meanwhile, a group of middle-distance runners competed at the UW-Platteville Invitational.
The Badgers set four new personal best marks on the final day of competition.
Badgers out west
Danni Langseth was back competing for the fourth day in California at the Beach Invitational, picking up a fourth-place finish in the shot put. Langseth threw for a personal best distance of 53 feet, 11 ¾ inches (16.45m), moving her up to sixth on UW's All-Time performance list and ranks Langseth No.10 in the Big Ten Conference this season.
Sprinters continued their weekend at the UCLA Legends Invitational. Senior Kiley Robbins finished second in the 100-meter dash at 11.50 seconds. Competing alongside Robbins was sophomore Sydney Robinson, who finished fifth, crossing in 12.34 seconds. The two returned to compete in the 200 meters. Once again, it was Robbins who led the Badgers with a fourth-place finish in 24.49. Robinson followed, coming in fifth at 25.51. Freshman Karina Janik also had an impressive performance in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing second in 1:01.90.
At Bryan Clay, a quartet of Badgers competed in the 1500 meters. Kylie Finger got things started in section one, crossing in 4:27.84 for eighth place. Graduate student Victoria Heiligenthal had the fastest time of the Badgers, finishing seventh in section 5 at 4:22.04. Madison Mooney had the second fastest time by a UW athlete, finishing 10th in section 9, crossing in 4:26.75, Freshman Ruby Madden competed in her first 1500-meter race, finishing in 4:31.18.
Badgers in Platteville
The Badger women dominated in Platteville thanks to two 1-2 finishes in the steeplechase and 1500 meters. Maggie Munson and Anna Schoesser competed in the steeplechase early Saturday afternoon. Munson led the two with a win thanks to a personal best time of 10:48.36 that ranks 10th in the Big Ten and Schoesser followed with a second-place finish at 11:05.48.
Graduate students Carolyn Shult and Vivian Hacker also finished 1-2 in the 1500 meters. Shult captured the win, crossing in a time of 4:29.12, a new personal best time for the Augusta, Wisconsin native. Hacker also ran a personal best time of 4:31.63 for a second-place finish.

Lexi Westley will compete in 10,000 meters at the Wake Forest Invitational on Friday, April 19th, at 9:25 p.m. CT.
The rest of the Badger squad will return to competition April 25th-27th at the Penn Relays, Drake Relays, and Texas Invitational.
