
Four Badger men on U.S. Under 23 rowing team

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Racing unopposed at the 2024 USRowing Under 19, Under 23 and Senior National Team Trials, but needing to hit the qualifying standard, a men's four made up of Wisconsin men's rowers earned a spot on Team USA for the 2024 World Rowing Under 23 Championships later this summer.
Will Klipstine (Middleton, Wisconsin), Andrew Soman (Cleveland, Ohio), Jack O'Brien (Cos Cob, Connecticut) and Lucas Farmer (Crozet, Virginia) rowed to a time of 6:10.18 over 2,000 meters to meet the mark and qualify for their first international competitions.
The 2024 World Rowing Under 23 Championships are scheduled for Aug. 18-25 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.
Racing concluded on July 7 at the 2024 USRowing Under 19, Under 23 and Senior National Team Trials on Mercer Lake and the four were officially named to the team late last week.
Klipstine, Soman, O'Brien and Farmer mark the first Badger men since 2021 to race for Team USA at the world under 23 championships.
