Serbian wing brings international experience to Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. – Women's basketball head coach Marisa Moseley announced the addition of 6-foot Serbian wing Jovana Spasovski to the 2024-25 roster on Friday.
"I am thrilled to introduce the final member of our 2024-25 roster Jovana Spasovski. A 6'0 wing from Belgrade, Serbia, Jovana is an excellent addition to our Badger family. She has had the honor of representing her country for several years, most recently as a member of the U20 Serbian National Team. She also spent the last two years playing in Slovenia for her club team Akson Ilirija", Moseley exclaimed. "Jovana is a three-level scorer, who's versatility will fit perfectly into our system. She is a fierce competitor and has an incredible will to win! Her unselfish demeanor on and off the court is the epitome of what we look for in our players. I cannot wait for you all to see her! Badger Nation, please help me welcome Jovana to our family!"
Spasovski competed for the basketball club Akson Ilirija during the 2023-24 season. She played 23 games, averaging 22.4 minutes, 9.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.0 assists per game. Additionally, she shot 45.3% from the floor and 78.9% at the charity stripe.
Hailing from Serbia's capital city, Belgrade, Spasovski competed for the Serbian National Team at the FBIA U-20 Women's European Championship in the summer of 2023. She helped her team finish in fourth place, playing in all seven games, averaging 8.1 points and 6.7 boards.
Spasovski is now the second international player on the Badgers' roster following the addition of Spaniard Alba Martìn Mesa earlier this month.
