
Cunningham leads Badgers to runner-up finish at Big Ten Preview

Transfer earns individual title in Badger debut
URBANA-CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Thanks to an individual title by Lindsay Cunningham in her UW debut, the No. 19 Wisconsin women's cross country program notched a second-place finish in a nine-team pool at the Big Ten Preview on Friday evening at the Orange and Blue Golf Course.Â
The Badgers finished with 63 points as a team, as Northwestern wound up winning the event with 40 points. Wisconsin was followed by Indiana, who tallied 84 points as a unit.Â
Cunningham ran a winning time of 19 minutes, 54.4 seconds to take home gold, competing in her first race as a Badger since transferring from Winona State.Â
Annika Cutforth rounded out the top-10 individual performers amongst the competition, finishing her 6K in 20:41.4 to land in 10th place.Â
Following closely behind, Stony Brook transfer Fiona McLoughlin put together a strong race as she took 12th with a time of 20:52.4.Â
Bella Jacobsen and Kylie Finger rounded out the scoring totals for Wisconsin in their first individual races of the season, placing in 15th and 25th, respectively.Â
