Big Ten Conference announced its Preseason Women’s Basketball Honors
ROSEMONT, Ill. - With the 2024-25 season on the horizon, the Big Ten Conference announced its Preseason Women's Basketball Honors on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Junior Serah Williams secured a spot on both the Coaches and Media Preseason All-Big Ten Teams.
The six-foot-four forward led the team offensively with 17.4 points per game, and with an average of 10.7 rebounds per game and 2.8 blocks per game, Williams was tabbed the 2024 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year during the 2023-24 campaign.
Williams was also a dominant force in the Big Ten last season, leading the conference in offensive rebounds per game (3.1), blocks per game (2.8), and was fourth in average field goals made (6.4).
The junior was able to sustain success over the entirety of the past conference season, claiming a double-double in 15 of 17 Big Ten games.
Further, William's 17-consecutive double-doubles stands alone at No. 1 in program and conference history, surpassing Megan Gustafson's (Iowa) consecutive double-double record of 15 set in the 2018-19 season.
Williams and the Badgers will tip-off the 2024-25 season with an exhibition on Oct. 29 against UW-Stevens Point inside the Kohl Center.
