Wisconsin adds walk-on guard Aidan Konop

Freshman from Sussex, Wisconsin joins the Badgers
MADISON, Wis. — Aidan Konop, a 6-foot-2 guard from Sussex, Wisconsin, has joined the Wisconsin men's basketball team as a preferred walk-on, as announced by the program on Tuesday.
As a senior at Sussex Hamilton High School, Konop averaged 20 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals per game. He shot over 50 percent from the floor, including a 40 percent clip from 3-point range.
"We are happy to welcome Aidan to our team this upcoming season," Gard said. "He has worked extremely hard both on the court and in the classroom to earn this opportunity. As a native of Wisconsin, Aidan grew up watching the Badgers and he embodies many of the characteristics that our program has prided itself on for years."
A first-team all-Greater Metro Conference selection as a senior, Konop led Sussex Hamilton to a 20-6 record last season, culminating with an appearance in the WIAA regional final.
Konop joins Daniel Freitag (Minnesota), Jack Robison (Minnesota) and Riccardo Greppi (Italy) in making up this year's freshman class for Wisconsin.
