Wisconsin finishes second in Badger Classic to kick off 2024 campaign

Gremban takes runner-up honors in UW debut
MADISON, Wis. – The No. 19 Wisconsin women's cross country team took home a second-place finish at Friday's Badger Challenge at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, thanks in part to a runner-up performance by freshman Nora Gremban.
The Badgers recorded 38 points in their season debut while Illinois won with 29 points and Northwestern was third with 53.
Gremban led the way for Wisconsin throughout a majority of the race, making a strong late push to finish in second with a time of 21:13.1.
After a bevy of Fighting Illini crossed the line, Mikaela Helling, Annika Elliott and Megan Lee rounded out the top four finishers for the Badgers, each finishing in ninth, 10th and 11th, respectively.
Myra Stray was the final scoring-Badger to complete her 6K, clocking in at 21:47.4 to start her 2024 campaign, good for 16th place.
