MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's track and field teams continues its season by heading to Iowa City, Iowa for the Hawkeye Invite on Jan. 18, beginning at 11:00 a.m. CT.

1. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers walked away with four individual winners from the Wisconsin Midwest Invite, hosted in Chicago last Saturday. Kiley Robbins highlighted the standouts, turning in a time of 7.43 seconds in the 60 meters to earn a first-place finish. Chloe Lindeman and Danni Langseth continued their dominance in the circle, in separate events. Lindeman won the weight throw with a heave of 72 feet, 1 ¾ inches (21.99m). On the other hand, Langseth tallied a victory in the shot put event with a score of 53-7 (16.33m). To complete the day, Fiona McLoughlin coasted to a first-place finish in the 3000 meters, as she is set to hit the track once again this weekend.
2. STRONG START: The throwers, while not competing this weekend, got off to a noteworthy start to their 2024-25 campaigns, dominating the field at the Wisconsin Midwest Invite on Saturday, Jan. 11. After the aforementioned Lindeman and Langseth, Taylor Kesner made history in the weight throw—becoming the sixth-ever UW female to throw over 70 feet. The Highland, Illinois native ranks fifth all-time in UW Indoor Track history with a throw of 71-8 ¾ (21.86m). Chikere Oduocha, Asia Rave, Zonica Lindeque and Hadley Lucas each put together quality showings at the Wisconsin Midwest Invite, too. The throwers will be back in the circle between Friday, Jan. 24 and Saturday, Jan. 25, when make their way east to compete in the Dr. Sander Invitational in New York.
3. RISING IN THE RANKS: After a couple of standout performances to kick off the season, the Badgers have made their way into the top ranks in the Big Ten. Chloe Lindeman is the highest rank amongst the qualifying Badgers, as she sits in third place in the conference in the weight throw. Shea Ruhly, after a strong run at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, inserted herself at No. 4 in the Big Ten in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:00.77. Taylor Kesner, Emma Kelley, Danni Langseth, Chikere Oduocha, Kiley Robbins, Mya Bunke and Elissa Perkins have all executed top-10 efforts this season as the 2025 portion of the schedule continues.
4. UNDERCLASSMEN STEPPING UP: Numerous underclassmen stepped up for Wisconsin at the Wisconsin Midwest Invite this past Saturday in field events, including the 60 meters hurdles, triple jump and pole vault. Maddie Hogan earned a fourth-place finish in the 60 meters hurdles, as the sophomore turned in a time 8.85 seconds. Elissa Perkins was one of the biggest winners of the day, tallying a runner-up finish in the triple jump—ranking 10th in the Big Ten as of now. Additionally, Joscelyn Dieckman made her Badger debut at the Wisconsin Midwest Invite and earned a third-place finish in the pole vault with a leap of 10-6 (3.20m).
5. UP NEXT: Wisconsin will be back in action next weekend, slated to attend two separate meets between Jan. 24-25. The Badgers will compete in the Dr. Sander Invitational in New York and the Fighting Illini Invite in Illinois.
