MINNEAPOLIS, Minn- The Wisconsin women's basketball team (10-10, 1-8 Big Ten) battled hard on the road against the No. 23 Minnesota Golden Gophers (18-3, 6-3 Big Ten), but fell short in a 71-50 defeat.

Tess Myers and Serah Williams were key contributors for the Badgers, with Williams leading the team in scoring with 16 points, while Myers added 9 of her own. The Wisconsin bench also stepped up, outscoring the Gophers 8-3 in bench points, showcasing their depth and ability to contribute.

As a team, Wisconsin shot 42.0% (21-50) from the field, 33.3% (5-15) from beyond the arc, and 50.0% (3-6) from the free-throw line.

How It Happened
The game got off to a fast-paced start, with both teams trading baskets in the opening minutes. Minnesota surged ahead briefly, but the Badgers responded with key stops and a massive three-pointer from Myers. The momentum shifted again when Myers capitalized on a turnover, giving Wisconsin a 14-13 lead midway through the first quarter. The second quarter saw both teams battling evenly, and they entered halftime locked at 28-28.

However, the Badgers struggled to maintain their offensive flow after the break. Minnesota capitalized on the slowdown, going on a run to take control. Wisconsin fought back in the closing minutes of the third, but the Gophers quickly shut down any potential comeback, stretching the lead and ultimately finishing the game strong with a 71-50 win.
