
On the Court: Badgers gear up for home opener

Badgers host Milwaukee and Northern Illinois in Friday doubleheader
MADISON, Wis -Â The Wisconsin women's tennis team hosts a doubleheader this Friday, Jan. 31. They face Milwaukee at 9:00 a.m. and Northern Illinois at 5:00 p.m.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES: The Huskies, led by head coach Eric Burns in his fifth season, are one of the winningest programs in NIU history. Their diverse roster features players from Turkey, Russia, Greece, and Spain. The Huskies come into the weekend in top form with a 4-1 record, winning their last two matches by dominant 7-0 scores.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS: The Milwaukee Panthers, led by second-year head coach Mark Goldin, posted a 9-12 record in his first season. Goldin is joined by his wife, Madeline, as the team's assistant coach. With a fully international roster, the Panthers have proven their ability to recruit globally. They come into the matchup against Wisconsin with a 2-0 record, highlighted by wins over Bradley and Providence.
THE LAST SERVE: The Badgers went 1-1 last weekend with a resounding victory over No. 20 Arizona State, before they fell to No. 9 North Carolina the following day. Taylor Cataldi and Ellison Reynoldson are on a tear to open up the season as the duo is 2-0 in their doubles matches, including a win over the 20th ranked doubles team in the nation.
UP NEXT: The Badgers hit the road for a challenging weekend in Kansas, facing the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday, Feb. 7, and the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, Feb. 8.
