MADISON, WIs. – The Wisconsin men's golf team takes the short drive to Erin Hills for the Marquette Intercollegiate on Sunday, teeing off at 9:50 a.m. on Sunday.

Seven Badgers will make the trip to the 2017 U.S. Open course, starting five and playing two individually.

Fans can follow the action via @BadgerMGolf on X and @BadgersMensGolf on Instagram.

1. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin starts four-of-five golfers who appeared in the Badger Invitational two weeks ago. Spencer Turtz paced UW at the Badger, finishing 29th at +3. Consistency was key for the Charlotte native, firing three consecutive 73s, including a strong final-round -1 back-nine to close out the event.

Jacob Beckman, William Harned and Charles Erlandson also all return; each have notched top-50 performances throughout the early stages of fall ball. Beckman finished top-20 at the opening Gopher Invitational, using a bogey-free final-round 69 to finish +4 overall.

2. FINDING HIS FOOTING: True freshman Vijay Kumar will make his first start in the UW lineup Sunday after two successful individual tournaments to begin the year. The Nebraska native opened his campaign with a 53rd-place finish at the Minnesota Classic, before earning his stripes at the Badger Invitational. Kumar went low in Madison, finishing 29th overall at +3, thanks to a final-round 69. He was sharp on approach all week, leading the entire field in Par-3 scoring average.

3. READY TO RETURN: Two Badgers will compete individually at Erin Hills, including sophomore Jason Shwartz, who returns from injury. A former top-30 recruit in the nation, Shwartz excelled in limited action last season, finishing fifth at the 2024 Badger Invitational at -4.

Sophomore Drew Sacia is the second Badger 'indy this week, already competing in two tournaments this season. He finished 73rd at the Badger Invitational, showing resiliency in the final-round shooting +1 with three front-nine birdies. The Georgian began the season at the Minnesota Classic, finishing 24th at +4.

4. LAST TIME AT ERIN: The Badgers took 11th at the 2023 Marquette Intercollegiate, while Beckman and Turtz were the only current players there. Alumni Cameron Huss, who made his PGA Tour debut at the Sanderson Farms Championship this week, paced UW that weekend in 31st. Beckman was close behind in 35th.

5. HEADING SOUTH: The sun's started to wane in the fall season, with just two tournaments after Erin Hills. The Badgers will head to Charleston, South Carolina, for the Bryson Invitational next week on Oct. 13-15. They'll round that out with a flight down to Biloxi, Mississippi, for the ever-competitive Fallen Oak Invitational, hosted by Ole Miss.
